The LA GARD 2270  is a changeable key lock, and can be changed to a new set of keys if an existing key or duplicate is compromised. The change procedure requires the existing key, a change key and the new set of keys.

The tubular keys are designed to prevent the need for modifying a safe to a double-bit keyway, and can generally use the existing spindle or cable hole.
