As a result of global feedback and to continuously improve the product, dormakaba have released new firmware for the LA GARD 700 series. The new firmware contains several changes which significantly improve the user experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Timescale and firmware updates<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Firmware of existing stock is being updated, and locks are expected to be ready in the next few weeks. Firmware can be updated in the field using the Software kit for LA GARD 700 Series<\/a>, available to purchase from our online store.<\/p>\n\n\n

Safelock Systems Ltd. will undertake free of charge firmware updates to any uninstalled lock sets that are returned and collected at the customer’s expense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The update is optional<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It is not necessary to update existing locks, it is optional depending on whether end users desire the changes that the update offers, which are outlined below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Forced code changes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Previously, when a new code was added to the lock, the code holder was forced to change the code, before it could be used to open the lock. This feature is now optional, and the default setting is that it is switched off. The Master code can turn on forced code changes: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
