What you’ll need

Audit equipment is available to purchase from our online store

Software kit for LA GARD 700 Series

Windows PC or laptop

Master code or Manager code or,

User code if a User has audit privilege

Install and register the software

Using the license key and instructions available HERE, ensure that the software is installed and registered.

Connect the cables

  • Connect the audit cable to the USB interface
  • Connect the USB interface to the PC
  • Connect the audit cable to the keypad

Run the software and prepare a System

  • Run the LA GARD 700 Series software

To communicate with a lock, the software must have a System which has been previously defined. Up to 100 Systems can be defined in the software, but any one System can be used to take an audit on different locks of the same model.

If a saved System in the software has previously been used to audit a lock, a warning shows that the serial number does not match the one stored in the database. This does not cause a problem and the lock can still be audited.
  • From the Main Menu, select Systems
  • Click Create
  • Specify a Name and select the relevant Model
  • Click Save
  • Click PC Link
If a previously saved System is to be used, in the list of Systems, left-click it so that it is highlighted grey, then click PC Link
  • A new PC Link window opens
  • A Port should have been identified automatically. In the example above it is COM4. If a port has not been identified and there are none in the drop-down menu, close PC Link, check cable connections and re-open PC Link
  • In PC Link User, select the ID that will be used to take the audit, and enter the combination. In the software 0 is ID 00, 1 is ID 01 etc.
  • Select Audit so that it is highlighted grey
  • Click Audit Retrieval Options
  • Specify the number of events to download

  • Press #30
  • Enter an authorised ID and code
  • Press Enter

Display keypads

  • Press either Arrow Up, Arrow Down or Enter to access the command menu

  • Enter an authorised ID and code
  • Press Arrow Down to scroll to PC Link so that it is highlighted in white
  • Press Enter. The displays shows Connect software

Take audit

  • Whilst PC link is running on the lock, at the software click Receive
  • A screen will show the receiving progress
  • If there are any error messages, check all cable connections and that the Port has been identified, before trying again.

Audit data

The audit data appears and can be reviewed. The column titles allow for sorting and filtering.

The audit can be saved to the software and viewed at a future time by clicking Save. To access, in the Main Menu, select Audit, then select the saved audit from the list.

The audit can be exported to PDF, Excel or Word and can be printed,

  • Click Generate
  • A Report Window shows, click the Print icon to print the audit, or click the Save icon to export to PDF, Word or Excel
