Wrong code and penalty
Entry of an incorrect code results in a long beep. Entry of 4 consecutive incorrect codes result in a 5 minutes penalty period, indicated by an LED flash every 10 seconds.
The signals for wrong code and penalty for Pulse (10 user) are the same as for Pulse Basic, shown in the video below.
Troubleshooting
- A long beep sounds on a key press and the LED flashes every 10 seconds
- The lock is in penalty caused by 4 entries of an incorrect code. Wait for the penalty period of 4 minutes to elapse.
- Multiple beeps sound
- The battery is low and should be replaced with a good quality 9v alkaline battery. See change battery
- A key does not beep when pressed
- The batteries may be depleted, see change battery.
- A key may be faulty, undertake a keypad test if any keys are faulty, contact a safe engineer.
- The safe or vault door does not open
- If the lock system is otherwise operating normally, there is a mechanical fault. Contact a safe engineer.
Change battery
Low battery is indicated by a series of beep during opening. If there is no response from the keypad, the battery may be completely depleted.
The battery cover is located at the 6 o’clock position on the keypad. The procedure to change battery for Pulse (10 user) is the same as for Pulse Basic, shown in the video below.
Replace with a good quality 9v alkaline battery.
Optional features
Dual mode
If the lock has been supplied in dual mode, user 1 is installed with the code 1-1-1-1-1-1
To open the lock, two valid codes must be entered
To open the lock when time delay is active, one code can start the delay, two codes are required to open the lock during the open window. User 9 must enter their code first before another valid code is entered to override time delay.
For the Manager to perform Manager functions, a user must enter their code before the Manager procedure is started, for example
- Enter a valid code
- A double beep sounds
- Press and hold the relevant shortcut key
- A double beep sounds
- Enter the Manager code
Alarm signals
When connected to additional peripheral equipment and an alarm system an input signal can block the lock from opening, and entry of a duress code can initiate a silent signal.
When remote block is active, entry of a valid code results in a long beep.
When programmed, codes comprise 7-digits.
A duress code is the user’s normal code with the last digit increased or decreased by 1. If the last digit is a 0, it can be decreased to a 9. If the last digit is a 9, it can be increased to a 0.
Dallas keys (Fobs)
Using Dallas keys requires that the installed keypad is fitted with a Dallas key reader.
If Dallas keys are in use, the associated Dallas key must be touched to the reader after entry of a valid code for opening or performing any functions. A double beep will sound to confirm acceptance.
To associate a Dallas key to a user, follow the add user procedure and after each entry of the new code, touch the Dallas key to the reader until a double beep sounds.
To associate the Manager to a Dallas key, follow the change code procedure and after each entry of the new code, touch the Dallas key to the reader until a double beep sounds. If a Manager Dallas key is lost the Manager no longer has access to Manager functions. The lock can be reset by a safe engineer if access to the lock body is possible.
To use a new Dallas key, follow the change code procedure using the old key with the old code, and use a new key with the new code.
