Prior to taking an audit, ensure that the driver and audit software have been downloaded and installed on the computer. Instructions are available here

These instructions outline the procedure to download audit with a Dallas key. For MiniTech keypads with a firmware version of 1.13 or higher, it is possible to download audit directly from a computer. Please refer to MiniTech audit directly from a computer.

Take audit

Create an audit Dallas key

A Dallas key must be configured by the software so that it is ready to receive audit from the lock.

  • Connect the molex plug of the Dallas key reader to the USB interface
  • Connect the USB interface to the computer
  • Insert the Dallas key into the Dallas key reader
  • Run the audit software and ensure that the USB interface has been detected
  • Click Create Dallas audit key and select MiniTech
  • Answer Yes to the Warning: this operation will delete all data in Dallas key
  • Wait for the operation to complete, the dialogue box will disappear

Download the audit from the MiniTech

  • Ensure that the Dallas key is inserted in the Dallas key reader, but do not yet connect to the MiniTech keypad
  • On the MiniTech, press any key to wake the display
  • Press and hold 7, the screen will display LOCK AUDIT
  • Enter the manager code, the screen will display ENTER DALLAS… with the dots appearing from right to left
  • Insert the jack plug of the Dallas key reader into the port on the MiniTech keypad
  • Wait for the data to finish downloading, the screen will display OPERATION DONE
  • The audit is now saved to the Dallas key

Download the audit to the computer

  • Connect all components to the computer as described in Create an audit Dallas key
  • Run the audit software and click Read Dallas audit key
  • Wait for the audit to finish downloading, a message will show Operation done.
  • The software provides options for exporting the contents of the audit
  • Click the Configuration tab to view firmware information and the status of users.
