Prior to taking an audit, ensure that the driver and audit software have been downloaded and installed on the computer. Instructions are available here.

These instructions outline the procedure to download audit from a keypad installed without a Dallas key reader, using a Dallas key. For other methods, please click the appropriate link shown at the end of Pulse Pro audit software.
This method of taking audit from a Pulse Pro requires access to the lock body and disassembly of the complete lock set. It should therefore only be undertaken by Engineers.

Take audit

Create a Dallas audit key

A Dallas key must be configured by the software so that it is ready to receive audit from the lock.

  • Connect the molex plug of the Dallas key reader to the USB interface
  • Connect the USB interface to the computer
  • Run the audit software and ensure that the USB interface has been detected
  • Click Create Dallas audit key
  • Click Yes for the warning popup
  • A popup shows Insert a DS1996 Dallas key
  • Hold the magnetic audit and setup Dallas key to the Dallas key reader. The Dallas key must be held in place by hand while it is written.
  • When complete, a popup will show Operation Done and the Dallas key is configured to accept and audit download.

Connections

  • Disconnect the keypad cable from the lock
  • Disassemble the Lock cable splitter
  • Connect the cable with the Lock cable splitter to the ENT port of the lock (On some locks, port 1)
  • Connect the keypad cable to the Lock cable splitter
  • Connect the molex plug of the Dallas key reader to the Lock cable splitter
  • The complete connections should be as shown below

Download the audit from the Pulse Pro

Ensuring that all components are connected as shown above

  • On the Pulse Pro keypad, press and hold 7 until a double beep sounds and the LED stays on
  • Enter the Master (ID 80/81) or Manager (ID 60/61) code
  • Press OK, the LED flashes
  • Hold the Magnetic audit and setup Dallas key to the Dallas key Reader. The Dallas key must be held in place by hand while it is written
  • The download will begin, a beep will sound every 3 seconds
  • When the audit download is complete, a double beep will sound
  • Remove the Magnetic audit and setup Dallas key, a double beep will sound to indicate that the audit download was successful

Download the audit to the computer

  • Connect components to the computer as described in Create a Dallas audit key
  • Run the Pulse Pro audit software and click Read Dallas audit key
  • A popup shows Insert a DS1996 Dallas key
  • Hold the magnetic audit and setup Dallas key to the Dallas key reader. The Dallas key must be held in place by hand while it is read.
  • When complete, a popup will show Operation Done, click OK and the screen will show the contents of the audit.
